Dear Alumni,

My name is Elie Gaffen, and I’d like to formally introduce myself as the Prior of Sigma Alpha Mu-Rho Chapter. I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came to our house’s re-opening ceremony to support us after the renovation. We love meeting alumni and hearing about their time on campus while at 301 E. Armory.

Beginning April 14th, we are hosting a fundraising campaign to preserve and restore our historical items, contribute to philanthropic events, revamp our gym, and acquire new furniture. These funds will also support the longstanding tradition of other brotherhood and philanthropic events, such as the hosting of Bounce 4 Beats. For those who have seen our new home, we’ve made great progress in improving it for our members; however, it still needs some work, and we would appreciate your support.

To restore our historical artifacts and contribute to philanthropic events, we intend to designate $7,500.

At the Rho chapter, we are fortunate to have an amazing group of alumni with authentic connections from our home at 301 E. Armory. Many of those connections were made at events like Bounce 4 Beats or brotherhood events, commemorated through various photo albums, plaques, or other artifacts, and we want to restore them for years to come. If you would like to sponsor the purchase of a class paddle or other artifacts or sponsor a philanthropy event, please reply to this email.

We seek to allocate $7,500 to achieve this gym transformation and intramural participation.

The chapter also focuses on the physical well-being of our members. We currently have a gym area but are seeking to update the equipment in the facility. Additionally, we would like to use these funds to participate in more intramural sports on campus. Our goal is to create a fully equipped gym within the house and sponsor one intramural team per season with equipment to promote the health and fitness of our brothers throughout the academic year.

To fund the purchase of new furniture, we are looking to allocate $10,000.

We are in the process of acquiring new furniture for our home. We aim to enhance the overall comfort and atmosphere of the common areas like the Chapter Room, Main Room, and Scholarship Room. Introducing new furniture will contribute to the relaxation of our current and incoming brothers and will enhance the significance of these sacred rooms in our house.

If you would like to donate to any of these funds before April 14th, please contact me, and I will happily assist. Alternatively, you can do so using the GoFundMe link.

Furthermore, if you are interested in visiting campus, meeting the brothers, and taking a tour of the house, please reach out to any member of the Council. We always welcome alumni’s presence and value the opportunity to connect with the brothers who made the Rho chapter what it is today.
